Re: The Mods/ Lost Touch
I don't know that much about the Mods but I do know for sure that they never released an LP, absolutely certain! Still, hope you enjoy it

Re: The Mods/ Lost Touch
I think the album is a bootleg(album label is a bit of a giveaway "bootlegged records".The Mods replaced their lead singer which may be why they dont sound the same.Never heard the album so cant say for sure.

Your correct Rog, Mods Mayday The Mods lead singer Mark Casson left the band not long after Mods Mayday 79 .The recording quality of Lost Touch is not great but i still like the album.Original copies of this album were going for £40 & a few years ago before it was re - released.
Re -released bootlegs whatever next

Re: The Mods/ Lost Touch
As far as I'm aware, they are two different bands. This Lost Touch album was originally sold at Portabello Market at the time, though the first time I saw it was in a record shop off Carnaby Street back in 1983. Didn't pick it uo then, only got a copy about 2 years ago, think there was one track that stood out for me, King and Country that opens up side A.

Re: The Mods/ Lost Touch
Just heard this week that people have been looking for the band. Well mystery solved. I was the guitar player/songwriter and we were called The Touch but the album got released as "The Mods Lost Touch" for some dumb reason.
We were based in London and played at the Marquee, Hope and Anchor, 100 Club etc in 1979-1980. Did a bunch of out of town gigs (Golden Eagle in B'ham was memorable).
We were signed to Valdene Records in Portobello Road (they were more of a reggae/ska label).
Stoked to find out after nearly 40 years that the album is well liked.
I posted an old pic at the Glory Boy Mod Radio facebook page if you're interested: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10156384211089494&set=gm.1857135924305561&type=3&theater&ifg=1
