i have the first album, i bought it a bit ago, it doesn't really impress me. i like all day and all.... and tired of waiting which i have both of on 45, pretty much only kinks i like.

HI
I Saw the `Truth` play at the Norwich UEA in 83 and they got the hump on because we started singing ` we are the mods`, they said they were`nt a mod band anymore. Which was a pity as the whole of the audience was mod !!. Sorry to go off the point a bit ,getting back to the Kinks I think they are mod in that they had a mod following and made some great mod music ` well it is mod to me I don`t pretend to be an expert`. I saw Ray Davies last year and he was great when he sang waterloo sunset it was awesome.

A good old Ray davis, i meet him a few years ago walking up Grafton street Dublin, what a lovely man to talk to i have to say,yes i love the Kinks, from day 1. not sure if they where a mod band , just a great band for there time .

For me The Kinks influenced the Mod scene without needing to be mods-in the same way Motown isnt mod-its just cool and loved by mods...still they are one of my favourite all time bands of the 60s and a huge influence today.I always think of them when I hear a Blur track or the occasional Oasis track.They were intrinsically BRITISH and thats what makes them cool.
Again a band I never get bored of alongside The Who and The Small Faces..
Absolute class.

I saw The Truth support The Kinks back in the 80's at Hammersmith Palais. The place was full of Mods, me included. Neither band would of called themselves Mods but that no way spoilt our enjoyment of a great night, a great night for Mods because they played music Mods love. As Tracey said, "its just cool and loved by mods..."
