Well I was a mod and they really did it for me. One of the first bands to really get me. Mod? Not sure about that, but definately had 'mod appeal'. The dance floor would be crowded when their songs were played. Me and my pals loved them.   Hx

Not sure about the rest of them but I reckon Pete Quaife had all the bases covered
Scooter, Parka and tons of attitude. The pose is immaculate
He even rode his ss180 to gigs

The Kinks were one of first original vinyls I bought as well as Otis Reddings sings blue when I first got into the scene.

I voted 'Mod' because even though they were not advertised or sold as 'Mod' (like the Who, SmallFaces (and even the Stones looking at some pictures in 'a very British Phenenom')) they have a great Mod following and their early driven R&B sound IMHO is as 'Mod' a sound as you can get in the white R&B world.
I suppose I consider them Mod by association in a way. If you ask amost people to give you 3 Mod bands of the 60's, I think a lot would say Small Faces, Who and Kinks.
Saw them play at Hammersmith Palais in the 80's with The Truth supporting, another band who would not say they were Mod at the time. But was it a night for Mods? Defo!

I have an other (better) pic of Peter on his scooter and it's dated early 1966. Now his scooter have more lamps on my pic -
