Cool band! ...and in a similar indie-mod, mildly psych style to Scarlet Party as well. I remember being overjoyed at finding a clear vinyl copy of 'Eyes of Ice' in the Disc Den, a second hand record shop in the Old Smithfield Market in Belfast, circa 1984.
Also found a mint copy of The Jam's Studio B15 EP in there around the same time. I remember having an argument with the shop-keeper the next time I visited. When I mentioned it he flatly denied all knowledge. Probably sensitive about flogging bootlegs!
Ah... the joys of record collecting. It's the simple things that keep me happy
I just noticed this.
I was lucky enough to pick up a copy of the previously unreleased Scarlet Party album Scarlet Skies from drummer Sean Heaphy a few years back to add to the 101 Damnations & Eyes Of Ice singles I already had.
Great Album.
Re: Recommended music from the revival and 80's.... The Blades had some top tunes like The Bride Wore White, Downmarket and Reveelation of Heartbreak. They played a couple of sold out gigs at a 1,200 capacity venue in Dublin just before Christmas. It was their first performances since the 80s and they sounded great
