Makes me laugh, I am chuckling loads. All those NF Boneheads buying their gear and Swastika crap from the Last Resort. The shop was owned by a little Jewish fella. Talk about having the last laugh and doing it all the way to the bank!

Yeah but it's the same every time...do we really need to regurgitate all those old battles again? the same person has consistently asked for info on violence over the last 12 months.
Why? are they writing a book, have no experience of the matter and are relying on old memories? Maybe if we knew why, then we could relate to the thread more?
Or is it only me that's getting bored about all the old stuff. I'm probably one of the worst!
Hiya Andy, I know what you mean but some people were not there and that is why there will always be an interest in the drugs, clothes, music and the violence before they were part of it, I guess.
Let's be honest I bet there are just loads of people even these days, that do regurgitate this subject matter every time they sit their bums down for 275th time to watch Quadrophenia.
I am not saying you are wrong, It's just some people like seeing and hearing about the violent side of things. That book that I edited, I would have skipped having all those testosterone fuled, yet hardly colourful violent stories right out, but it was not my book. The person responsible could not get enough of it and said it is that what people want to read about!
Yes it's boring to some, but sexy to others!

Re: Punch Ups And Riots 1977-1986
I've never thought violence was sexy that's for sure.
I was amazed when the media said that the Iraq dossier was 'sexed up' before the country was invaded. What the fcuk does that mean?!
On the plus side, I do think violins are sexy.

Was it you that did that RTB79? I'd heard rumours but I didn't believe them.

Re: Punch Ups And Riots 1977-1986
Have ter say I'm not too happy about the specific interest in dredging up the violence associated with the scene. There's a fair few folks on here who have had plenty of first hand experience of mods, skins and footy shenanigans and if they want ter talk about it in the context of the woder scene or particular events that's fine by me. But lets not dwell on it here.
Nuyorica mate, yer've got an unhealthy interest in this. There's a whole glut of wannabe hoolies haunting footy sites, telling each other how they spent Saturday running some invisible firm all over the show, or how much of a lark they had taking Wigan's end at the weekend. Maybe yer best asking them questions there?
--- I love things, I do my best, I eat, sleep and laugh and cry just like the rest, what becomes of me is meant to be, so I'll just groove along quite naturally....

Re: Punch Ups And Riots 1977-1986
It's not that iam into the trouble (there is enough shite in the world these days)But i was too too young to be a part of but i remember with Rose Tinted Glasses the era i hold dearly with my Heart which is when Punk started 1976 to about 1984,But you read old Scootering Mags and it seemed 1985/1986 was a very strong year for the Scooter Scene and after the Riot in I.O.W. 1986 it all died down and things like Rave and such came in.Just Love the scene(s) which i was never in the part of it.
And yes i would love to see a Book on Bank Holiday Punch-Ups with the different cults but also i would to see a book on the Histroy of the Reggae Blues Dances and Soul All-Nighters.

Re: Punch Ups And Riots 1977-1986
Lets give nuyorica a bit of slack here , he obviously enjoys a few old mods , skins , teds , punks etc punch up stories , nothing too major and considering 178 people have checked the thread out in one day he is not alone ?
As others have said this stuff is probably better though spread about in lots of threads , as then has more meaning and interest when reffered to in different times , moments , clubs , runs etc .
