Re: Introductions!
Hiya, just registered today so thought I'd better say alright.
Well I decided to post here, as another mod site I sort of used I felt wasn't right for me.
Looks like I'm the young one of the board then ! Name's Grant, I'm 19, live in West London, just outside Uxbridge. Got into the mod scene about two/three years ago upon first seeing Quadrophenia.
Kind of all pieced together when I realised the sort of clothes / music / clubs I liked before even knowing what 'modism' was all about matched up to the mod scene ! So there was no looking back.
I also hate this new age urban influence at the moment (Garage etc) , so feel I gotta fly the flag as well. Got plenty of mates who'd love this site if they were online too.
Cheers, Grant.

Re: Introductions!
Eh up. My names Mark obviously, from the Wirral peninsula.
First got into mod around 1980, through me cousin Brian Mo'hair, but didnt really understand it until around a couple of years later, then BOOM!!
Every spare penny went on records, then when I got older more and more went on clothes too, and going out! Liverpool had a really good scene fer a while mid 80s. Until snobbery and elitism spoiled things. No place fer revivalists - and no clubs to cater fer em so it went arse up, and I left the scene.
Never lost interest, but drifted into Northern and dj'd here and there. Mostly at scooter dos after a while, a few weekly ones in Liverpool, and my own dos - mostly with my mate Cally.
But thanks to the purchase of the compy, I got right back into the swing - its a lot easier to buy records.
Glad I hooked up here, its good to talk.
Oh, I'm married have an 8yo daughter who thankfully takes after her mum, a cat who thinks its a dog called Salem and about 35 tropical fish. I'm the Production Manager in a company that manufactures CCTV equipment. Stressful.
Me favourite types of music are garage, revival and power pop and northern. Although theres not much in the mod cannon I dont dig. I dont dress mod, and I'm a porker from drinking a bottle of Merlot or Shiraz Mataro every night. Not good.
Is that enough? I'll get me coat.
--- .....well the beard must have been throoty four years old to grow it and grow it all night lode........

Re: Introductions!
Hi All
I am Jimmy and i am 34 years young. Got into mod just in time to see The Jam split up. Got in to Mod via the Jam and haveing a likeing for how some of the older kids at my school dressed. Through them i got in to the revival thing, especially The Hearts and The Chords - i was buying anything mod at this time and i have records by all the so called bandwagon jumpers Merton Parkas, Lambretta's etc. I also like Secret Affair, i get fed up with the posts i have seen on other sites about who was first/best etc etc. All the bands were good and have there place in the revival history .
I fell out with the mod thing a bit around late 85, 86 due to the switch to clubs and soul music. Also the Makin Time pickets and reading about bands such as The Gents being bottled off stage at a scooter rally. Don't get me wrong - nothing wrong with soul - just that my 1st love is live music. Stayed in touch with the music in particulary The Prisoners. Lost it a bit in the 90's due to house moves and hard times - lack of a job!.
Got back in to the revival big time after haveing a great time at Mods Mayday 99. When The Chords site was done, i thought i can do something like that and decided to a Purple Hearts web site as i thought there should be one.
Recently i have become a father and will be getting married in September.
