I don't know where you live but if you have a firm that does alloy welding and repairs they may be able to drop some solder in to repair the hole....they'd have to look at it and say yes or no as the heat and process may distort the piston head.My building, tuning (and riding) days are over now but I have in the past spent countless hours, days even weeks setting tuned engines up! If you are running weak the obvious thing to change is the main jet but obviously if you stick a larger main jet in you may find you have to change the other jets, needle or even the slide especially if you have to go several sizes up on the main jet as it will be sluggish or won't pull off properly at low revs! I think your best bet is to try and find someone who has the same set up as yourself...kit,engine(same gearbox),carb and ask them what they are running in it,obviously this needs to be someone who hasn't holed or seized the piston up recently! The other way of course is to stick it in a scooter shop that does tuning but I think you may find this expensive and they may want to not except responsibility for failure after they've set it up...either way tuning is an expensive road to go down even if it is fun!

Re: Mechanical help thread!
Can anyone help me I am building a new scoot and want to put an additional battery on. Can anyone tell me how this would be wired and what modifications to the electrics would be needed (Vespa Px200 disk). Cheers.

Re: Mechanical help thread!
Hi & thanks for doing this, been away from scooters for 20+ years & just got A Gp & a PX. Noticed oil peeing out of the PX when I filled the oil tank, found that there was no pipe from tank, don't know if the oil mix system is gravity or pressure fed & wondered if there was a reason previous owner had taken it off. Can just mix the 2 stroke manually or is there anything I need to blank off at the carb end where the oil pipe would connect. Cheers John
