Remember The Untouchables?

Hello;
Acetone here...I'm former keyboard player/singer with LA mod band from the '80's, the Untouchables...we were signed to Stiff...toured extensively around the UK...Loved it over there and I miss it quite abit...anyone remember? Played Dingwall's and Marquee in London around '85 (amoung other venues)...anyway I just found this site and felt inspired...Had a Lamby 150 back in the day...painted Jaguar "racing green"...it can barely be seen in the movie "Repo Man"...we appeared in a couple scenes...anyway, drop a line....
always B#...acetone

Yep. I remember you. I really liked you guys and went to a few of your gigs here, but as usual found that the album was very lightweight sounding and didn't reflect your true sound at all. I've got some blurred photos somewhere I took of you in the Electric ballroom in Camden I think.. I also saw you guys in 'Repo man' a film that I really liked. Your guitarist really was one cool guy and so much energy! And it was great to see some black guys in a Mod band! Good stuff... er ....maybe that's enough flattery! Anyway, welcome to the site, you still a Mod?

Hey guys;
Cool...The back cover shot...I'm the one on far right, bottom row...wraparound shades...what's left of curly hair...took that shot at BBC-London for album cover...just remembering the 1st time arriving in London, with promo all over town...magazines, posters,airplay... couldn't catch a break in LA...But Stiff totally got us and what we were about...Wild Child LP had great material and we were well rehearsed,but had the wrong producer assigned to us, in my humble opinion...We later worked with the great Jerry Dammers...He producer "I Spy"...he and I hit it off very well...anyone know his whereabouts these days?
Camden is north of the city, right? I think we filmed for Max Headroom in Camden...Hey I've got a band out here in San Francisco (The Mighty Squid-that's a working band name)I'm finishing up a CD and will soon be seeking approval...stay tuned...B#...Acetone

I definitely saw you in London. I think you were playing the Boston Arms in Tufnell Park.

You were supported by The Scene, who were one of my favourite bands at the time. I thought The Scene played the best set that I had ever heard them play that night. Then I read a review in Sounds that Gary Wood (The Scene's guitarist) had been playing most of the time with a broken pick-up!

Probably says more about me than The Scene.

Last time I saw Jerry he was DJing ska and rocksteady before a Specials gig last year. I say Specials but actually it's just Neville Staples doing Specials material. It was a great gig though but maybe that had a lot to do with the free beer and the fact that we were all out in force. Jerry DJ's around at various clubs now and a few years ago was playing a lot of Drum and Bass stuff, I'm not sure what he's playing now, a bit of everything I expect.

Hey, would love to hear your new stuff...

Remember the Untouchables? You got to be kidding. Remember being blown away when I saw the video of 'Free Yourself' on The Tube years ago. Great band and I've got an album on vinyl uptairs in the loft. (I have no record player anymore.) Has the Untouchables material been re-released on CD?

I remember seeing you lot at Hammersmith. The whole place shook when you where on. The place looked like a school disco circa 1979, with porks pie hats etc everwhere.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw you lot in No Mans Land with Charlie Sheen.

Great stuff, great band! emoticon
