I know you lot down south have everything on your doorstep.
I know there is something on nearly every night of the week.
I know you don't have to travel when it's just a walk or tube ride away.
'Why should you'?, is what your saying.
What I'm saying is this:- even a 'ONE OFF' event doesn't seem to inspire some of you to make the effort, if a meet-up is arranged and something organised it doesn't have a chance of being held out of London coz most would vote 'SOUTH'.
I know that some like Jeff go all over supporting events and making the effort- but only if it's to his taste which is perfectly reasonable, why would anyone go to an event they knew they wouldn't enjoy?
Some won't even bother either way, the north is grim , wet and full of flat caps & whippets - stereo typed b****cks.
RANT OVER - I've made my point!
Oh. I was all geared up to become an intrepid traveller into unchartered water...the thought of John, all wet in his cap, holding his whip......"I'm Only Dreaming"Hx

Re: Supporting 'OUR' scene!
I love to travel anywhere where I know I'm gonna get a good welcome. Some of my best times I've had scene wise have been up in the north. Also had some terrific holidays up north as a youngster as well as all over the world....I've been lucky.
John, not all of us think the north is grim...far from it. I know there sometimes is this north/south divide where northerners think southerners can be snobby
and vice versa but I love the idea of attending an event up north! I may have trouble in understanding the lingo and you may have trouble understanding me but that's the whole fun of it innit!
I work in London and live just outside London and although it's great club/scene wise sometimes I like to get away and what perfect excuse than you putting on a do up north! Plus, I luv accents and can really do a good yorkshire and lancashire accent.. I think I do anyway!
If nothing gets sorted then a load of us should just come up anyway and do our own thing! So as the title of the programme goes...our friends in the north!

Re: Supporting 'OUR' scene!
Hahah you wouldn't believe I had elocution lessons would ya John?!
My fave cockney rhyming slang has got to
be "Let's get the BEECHAMS in" ("Let's get the BEECHAMS PILL in" - meaning "Let's get the BILL in") - has to be said when you're very pissed up in a curry house!
Actually I fancy some "SEXTON BLAKE" (Cake).
Sounds a bit rude but it's not lol!

Re: Supporting 'OUR' scene!
OK lets get our heads out of our arses and SERIOUSLY start talking about setting something up.
We know that Kitty and Heather are willing to make the journey SO why not get some decent ideas on the go and sort it out for say next March? That gives us 6 months?
PS we could even teach Kitty to talk proper like what we do b4 she comes up.
