Re: Clubs in the 80s.London
I got chased in Woking Town Centre late one night in 1985, coming home from a friends who lived in Holland Park. All I remember is getting off the A3 at West Byfleet (!) don't remember the rest of the journey to Woking. 'Casuals' bragged about it after, but I got knocked out, the scooter bashed and I got terrible facial injuries because I had an open face crash helmet on (grazing). I was found lying in the road by a lorry driver just after midnight. Had to have two operations on a scar on my face but OK now thank god, you can only just see it - my battle scar I call it.

Re: Clubs in the 80s.London
PH started DJing at the Epsom Youth Club in about 83 and all these Casuals used to wait outside in cars to kick the crap out of the kids(they were only 14/15) so a load of us 'adults' (about 5 scooters two up)went down. It was a cracking do and we all dressed to pose, but afterwards it was mayhem.
When I got home I found somebodies tooth stuck in the handle of my umbrella...no idea where that came from

Re: Clubs in the 80s.London
Does any one remember a club in the late 80's possibly 90's. It was in London across the road from Stingfellows?
I think it was in a pub and we used to go down stairs to the club?
I can't remember what is was called but I used to go there every week and have a great time.
I think it was some time in the 80's, I wasn't married then, so it must have been before 89.

Re: Clubs in the 80s.London
I certainly remember a club very near Stringfellows. Opposite side of the street on Covent Garden side in a pub downstairs !
I think it was on a weeknight maybe Wednesday but it was earlier than 1989. I would say late 1986. Could be wrong though !! but defo went to a club downstairs in a pub there.....
Did Eddie Pillar run it ?

Re: Clubs in the 80s.London
The more I think about it the more I think it was about 85-86.
I am sure I was still living with my mum and dad which would make it before 87.
If Ed did run it, he would probably have done so with Dean Port. They did a few clubs together in those days.
I remember going with Diane Port, John Halls, Andy Orr and Paul Flynn.
The boys had a fight one night when we were walking to our cars to go home. Needless to say the casuals that started it went home with sore heads.
