Re: Recommended music from recent or current bands.... My bandana and cummerbund came in the post yesterday. I managed to find a supplier myself. I tried them on but, rather unfortunately, I just looked like a Bulgarian folk dancer, even without my gadulka. Not a bad look, but not really the one I was going for.
Anyway enough of fanciful accessorising... I'd recommend the Nouvellas' album. I first heard their song 'Satisfied' on the Immediate Pleasure CD from Rowed Out (cheers Adam!), liked the sound of it so I bought their album. Mods and fans of the Atlantic soul sound should love it! Plenty of dancable tracks with soulful female vocals, a little bit of funk and a slight country guitar twang. Nice mix. They used to be The Dansettes apparently.
Re: Recommended music from recent or current bands.... new to board, and well impressed with the len price 3 got the rentacrowd album on the mp3 player and very loud!
Re: Recommended music from recent or current bands.... Crash Bang Wallop all the way spiritof79! Catchy, great tunes, lyrics, harmonies and loads of energy. You can't go wrong! Like an early Who for the 21st century. Saw 'em at the IPO in Liverpool a couple of years ago and they're well impressive live as well.
Their other 2 albums 'Chinese Burn' and the latest one 'Pictures' are both highly recommended.

Re: Recommended music from recent or current bands.... yes Bik, they're very good. Missed them the other night as they were on a bit early - they supported the Stems and The Sunnyboys. Seen them in a small pub last year and they were brilliant.
May well turn from garage/ beat to psychedelia as many do. Glad to see they are playing in Europe/UK.
