Re: The future of Modrevival.net?

I used to always come and check what was going on, then get talking if something interested me, but I didn't find anything interesting for a while so neglected this place.
Maybe it's the time of year? I'm sure it'll get back on it's feet again.

No, it's not the time of year, the site has been in decline for the last few years.
I'm not sure if miserymod can pull statistics on the number of threads created and posts made over the lifetime of the site on runboard but I think the downward slope would be pretty obvious.

Most of the former regulars on the site are on facebook now and keep in touch there. I agree it's a shame that we don't have the discussion threads we used to but I'm not sure what can be done to revive it.

Looks like there's still a few of us left. If we all make an effort to make these boards interesting and fun and not vindictive like some boards become, maybe we can attract more 'passers by' and it will take off again?

Like many other former regulars I dont post on here so much nowadays.
Luckily I still keep in contact with most of these people by other methods.

I think part of the problem for those of us who have posted on this site for a number of years is the fact that most revival bands / major topics have already been covered (often a number of times).

I do however hope the site keeps going as it offers something a little different to other websites. emoticon

the important page is Mod Events , if everybody post any mod related gigs , then a brief review of them after there will always be something new to keep things ticking along

I disagree, the mod events page is generally just used by bands/promoters and is the most used.

It's the other sections where people actually have discussions that keep the community going.

Hope the site keeps going.
I always look on the Events page to see what is going on, but don't think the bands use it enough, ie when The Purple Hearts played in Bristol last summer. If they had posted the gig on the page I am sure that they would have had a better turn out (well, me and two mates, at least). Who can be bothered trawling through all the crap on Facebook ???
