posticon The future of Modrevival.net?

Hello

I'm sure you've all noticed my lack of enthusiasm for the site the last couple of years, and the lack of effort on the forums etc.

I simply haven't got the time, energy or enthusiasm I once had to keep up with the site; modrevival.net and the forums.

So, I guess I'm left with two options:

1) Shut it all down (which I really don't want to do)

2) Somebody else with the energy, time and enthusiasm I once had to take over it all

So, any takers?

it would be a shame to see it shut down.

met some good people through this forum and been interesting to read of others experiences. Also been good to hear & learn of some great music that, as being an old man, I wouldn't find out about otherwise. emoticon

Know what you mean Mystery...it's a real shame but there's certainly not many on here anymore.

I hope someone with far more IT knowledge and time than me, steps in to keep it going. I still think it has a place on the web and you never know maybe the FB thing will lose it's appeal one day and this will take off again.

Thanks for all your efforts on this site and even though I've never met anyone from this site it's a great place to learn, swap opinions and share in some memories.

Re: The future of Modrevival.net

sad days
i hope this doesn't happen it would be a great loss,
i personally have found this site very informative especially for new music and music i had forgotten about, also been to many gigs i wouldn't have known about if it wasn't for this site,
sorry to hear you've lost your enthusiasm lee, but thanks for all you have done (and the moderators)
i check the site every day to see whats going on (not much lately) but still check,
also check mod culture every day but that gets predictable, also not much revival on there, plus get extremely tired of mr milligan's opinions (wink).
so really hope someone can take over to revive this great site.

I can't understand what has happened over the last few months, ever since the Secret Affair / Purple Hearts gig everyone has disappeared. Did this herald the the end of the latest revival? emoticon

Personally I can't be doing with Facebook and after speaking to people who 6 months ago lived on it I think it's slowly losing it's appeal.

It's a shame it's gone so quiet, after seeing the Chords, Purple Hearts, Secret Affair etc last year I was hoping it would get stronger. I suppose it'll be back to how it was a few years ago, down the local to see some second rate tribute bands wishing we were watching the originals.

I just joined! KEEP IT ALIVE! Like Eddie Pillar's ModCast, one of the few Mod Revival sites with contributions and comments by the actual KEY players. This place is sacrosanct. Lose it and ALL is lost. The terrorist's will have won!!

Keep it going. But like Modculture lets keep the politics off the site. It all ends up a big row and people fall out and it gets well out of hand. Mod to me is about clothes, music and cool looking scooters. Lets talk about having fun, ride outs, rallys, gigs and cool clobber. Who ever runs the site best of luck to them. But i'll not be throwing my hat in the ring because i don't have the time. Soz'. emoticon
