Re: The Threads Mansfield mid 80's
Great to see your pictures of us from Mansfield - funnily enough, I was talking about the Mansfield Alldayer with Shem from Yeh-Yeh at last week's Manchester Mod Weekender. They had just released "You Will Pay" on 7" and it went down a storm.
One abiding memory of the day was Guy's parents taking us to the gig in a huge horse lorry. The instruments and amps were in the back of the lorry and the band was holed up in the living compartment behind the cab - we certainly arrived in style for that gig (at the Polish Club).
I also remember the Five Thirty being less than friendly to the Mods in attendance.
Another great day back in 1985 (October I think).
Do you have any more photos of The Threads in your collection - it would be great to see them if you do.

Re: The Threads Mansfield mid 80's
I would be lying if I didn't say how great it is to see these photos!! Thanks for sharing these, and like Paul said, have you got anymore?
Paul your right we did go in the Horse Lorry, I seem to remember that parking was kind of tight with it and somebody had to get there trousers sown up in the back
Look at that crazy singer and I have still got that guitar.
What a great time.
All the best,
Guy

That's right Guy - it was a really tight squeeze into the car park. I don't know how your Dad managed it, but somehow he got us in.
Yes, I remember trousers having to be sewn in the back of the horse box - although I still can't quite remember if it was Tim or me who needed the running repairs.
That was always a really nice guitar and I'm pleased to hear you've still got it.

I think you got the repairs That guitar is somwhat retired nowadays, it always had a really unique sound to it and it's covered in battle scars that I treasure every chip of because of the memories. Great times.

A well deserved retirement for a great guitar - how are those Rickenbackers in your collection doing?

Re: The Threads Mansfield mid 80's
I've still got both the 330 and the 360/12 WB, I still remember making the mad dash down to buy the 330, don't you? To be honest for the last few years I've been playing my Epiphone Casino which is a phenomenal guitar, I wished I discovered one years ago, it just has that whole Beatles Revolver sound down to a tee, and my Fender telecaster is my number two guitar. I really need to find the time to play more often though. What about you, I thought I saw that you got a couple of Ricks again?

Re: The Threads Mansfield mid 80's
Yes, it was Monkey Business in Romford - I remember the dash down (after we had been around the country looking at other 330s).
Yes, I bought a jetglo 330 and a blue 360/12 stereo deluxe.
I also knock around on a couple of Gibsons - a Les Paul and an SG. I still have the old Framus semi and also a Jim Harley fireburst 330 copy (plus an electro acoustic, bass and keyboard).
Like you, I don't have enough time to do them justice.
However, when we have our Blues Brothers moment.......
