Me & The Threads,
Here's me doing a "Bez" a full 5 years before the Happy Monday's hit the big time, who knows, what might have been. I'm pretty sure this was at the Old Racecourse at Lincoln at a gig with The Moment

Re: Me & The Threads,
Yes, that was definitely The Racecourse in Lincoln supporting The Moment - we then drove through the night to play in Scotland the following evening!!!
Best wishes,
Paul

Re: Me & The Threads,
Thanks Paul, went past the stadium on Sunday in the car and had a chuckle, brought back some good memories. I've found some piccies of you lot at a Mansfield Alldayer and a Peterborough nighter which I'll post when I get time.

Re: Me & The Threads,
That would be great - the Mansfield gig was probably the Alldayer at the "Polish Club" in October 1985 with our very good friends, Yeh-Yeh, The 5:30 and a couple of other bands. A fantastic day.
I still have great memories of the Carholme Grandstand gigs - the Lincoln Mod Rally (which I helped to organise) in 1985 was a blast. We played as support to The Rage (and I still have a pair of Buddy's broken drum sticks from the night), although we were lucky to survive the afternoon beforehand due to the various skirmishes with Nazi skins.

Re: Me & The Threads,
I saw The Threads at the Lincoln Rally in 85 also at Mod Aid in Walthamstow the same year.
Also saw Paul HK play a solo acoustic set (due to an injury to a Threads band member if memory serves me right?)at the second Mod Aid in 88 at Wimbledon Town Hall.

Re: Me & The Threads,
Yes, 1985 was a fine year!!!!!!!!
The Mod Aid Alldayer at Walthamstow was a really good event - my only disappointment was that The Scene pulled out.
I was supposed to play in Eleanor Rigby's backing band on the day (along with our keyboard player Myk), but couldn't go through with it on the day!!!!!!!!!

Re: Me & The Threads,
I think we were playing "Lou's Blues" while you were mastering that tamborine. Ironically I think the last time I saw you we were listening to the Happy Mondays... Its been a long time mate. Lots of great memories of that time period.
Bring on the rest of the photos!!

Re: Me & The Threads,
Ah, "Lou's Blues", and early classic from the pen of Mr. B that featured, in "live" format, as The Threads contribution to a cassette album released by Mick Shaw of Empty Hours Modzine fame back in 1986/87. A great slice of rhythm & blues.

Re: Me & The Threads,
Yeah, I was going through my Yardbirds period. I believe I could tear that song up now after being around a bit of Texas blues, lol.. We had a great well rounded set back then and a good run of gigs.

Re: Me & The Threads,
We certainly did - that was, and will always remain, THE classic "Threads" line-up - it was great to get the original line-up (and Tetley) back together just one more time in 2002 to do the Small Faces Convention too.
Those gigs back in 1985/86 were brilliant - days that can never be recreated (although it would be good to get everyone together to play again just for the fun of it).
