One of the natural cycles of life in a couple of years, the forum might be better than ever.

I think there's a limited "life" of a poster. You can only go round the same topics for a year or two before it does your head in I guess. (So what am I still doing here you ask? though I did take a break for a while..)

I agree that the humour and stuff is weaker these days, and as I said earlier I do think it all gets a bit too serious sometimes. Maybe folks just aren't as happy (outside the forum) as they were??

I still try to do a bit of pisstaking and antagonising, but folks just get all upset and heavy maaan these days it seems.

I think it's all Bik's fault. I think he's a Zionist plant sent to disrupt the smooth running of this decent, Christian forum. And I think Jeff must take a little of the blame, no coincidence the slide began when you started growing your hair. You insurrectionist hippy!

There that's sorted everything out....

I'm a bit of a Jewish Hippie myself, on my days off from being a working class Tory, and a middle class Marxist. Now if you've got a problem with non Christians, the three of us'll box ya brains in. Or are there six of us? I'd ask myself but we can't agree on owt. emoticon

See? That's just the trouble, too many agendas emoticon and every thread dissolves into political arguing. I can't take this anymore cos none of you agree with me. I'm off to find hippierevival.net... emoticon emoticon emoticon

Right, I think this calls for a verbal straightener. I like a laugh, but the trouble is we’re not laughing at the same things. I’m sick of answering bilge on here about ‘immigrants ruining our country’, usually posted by people who can’t even spell in their own ‘queen’s English’. (Not referring to the Remembrance Day parade – I would have gone along but had to be elsewhere.)
It’s usually the same simpletons who think Bruce Foxton’s sh1t shoe range or Jam T-shirts should be treated with the utmost seriousness and respect.
Along with a few others I’m intelligent and articulate enough to challenge the ‘male, pale and stale’ mentality that pervades what’s left of the mod scene. And some people just can’t stand an outspoken female. I'm perfectly happy, thanks, I just don’t have time to suffer fools gladly – I’m busy with my photography, journalism, going to gigs (not just revival bands), meeting friends with similar interests, and whatever else I fancy. There’s very little on the forums that’s funny, interesting, creative, contemporary or forward-looking. One of the only worthwhile threads recently (about Phil Spector) was virtually ignored in favour of the usual self-promotion and wanging on about the old days. I couldn’t even ask how to de-register on here without someone I’ve never heard of having a go – what is this, the bloody Jehovah’s Witnesses? So I’m better off out of it. Although I will be forfeiting my long-held ambition to have my death notice appear in the Waffle section.

With the exception of the tirade at Jam t-shirts and Foxtons shoe range (which I wear with pride along with my target covered fishtail) emoticon I agree entirely with the above.
