The Boss
I strongly recomend the Boss as a band - fantastic 'power pop' with great original tracks and a few mod / punk covers thrown in.
I hear they have an album coming out soon - but it's been 'soon' for a while.
Check them out at

Re: The Boss
Their Manager is a real character..always got a gaggle of women surrounding him and his walking stick! (Including me and Mim at Wheelers in Leyton).
P.S. - For all you potential P.C. crazy people...I have nothing against walking sticks. Thought I'd just make that one clear incase.

Re: The Boss
The Boss will be playing at The Wheatsheaf pub in Romford, Saturday 26th July.
Always a good do, if a trifle warm and (shall we say) intimate.
The chap you are talking about is Mac, Danny's dad. He's a real character, just don't let him start telling you jokes or you'll be there forever!!!
--- Look, I know it's a tricky concept, but I want a cup of tea made with HOT water and some COLD milk. And don't put that lemon nonsense anywhere near it! Sheesh!

Re: The Boss
Mark/Rachel, yes I'll be there...the Wheatsheaf is not too far from me. I've been to this pub a few times to see a few rockabilly bands play. Should be good. See you there!

Re: The Boss
Tits, Bollox and Big Dogs Bits!
I tried, man how I tried!!
Got myself ready, looked out the window to see that the rain had stopped and only a light drizzle remained. I decided to go on the scoot, cos she needed a decent run.
In hindsight, this was not the best decision I have ever made, probably on a par with Colonel Custer when he said "Come on lads, I know a short cut, it takes us through Little Big Horn, but it cuts miles of the journey!"
Anyways, it pissed down and I got soaked....but it didnt finish there....
Just after the Blackwall Tunnel, my scoot died. After unsuccessfully trying to bump start her, I took her to a bus shelter, changed her plug and she was all okay again. I checked my watch, 9.30, still plenty of time to get to Romford.
Had my route planned out nicely, then lost the road I thought I was on! Checked location in A-Z, not a million miles away so planned my route again and set off.
Another downpour..... I was soaked through my parka, my suede jacket (another top decision!) and my shirt and I found myself laughing really loud as I rode along, wandering why I was doing this!
Checked watch again, 10.15, decided to cut my losses and turned back.
Just before the Blackwall Tunnel..guess what happened?????
Scooter died again!!!
Took off regalia and panel again, changed plug again (on the assumption that it worked last time, so why not!), tried to start her...but nothing. Tits!
Tried bumping her up and down the road again, nothing but an occaisional backfire!
Called The AA, the time was now 11.00....and it was still raining.
Mr Motorcycle Recovery finally turned up at 12.30, had an epic journey back to Bromley cos all the tunnels were closed and there was so much traffic on the road.
Finally got home at 2.00am, cold, wet and really really miserable.
So I'm pleased The Boss were excellent and I missed a good night out with you guys!
