yep that was it !! two fat cop's got hold of me chuckrd me to floor,one stuck he's knee behind my neck and the other sat on my back and ripped mu shoes off and then chucked them in the sea!!! ..good job the tide was in !!!
ps..what about the bill rounding a mob of us up in Margate and locking us up in their garage !! for about 4 hours!!! was anyone else in there with us????

Tony, a few of 'em on here were at Margate when that happened.
And the Drill Hall riot as well!  
Remember the bloke jumping off the balcony doing his 'Jimmy' impression and landing squarely on his knees and being carted off in an ambulance?

That's the best place to feel rock music - down in your pants!
It would have to have been a rock album cos that's what The Who were doing in 72/73. It still totally encapsulated the mod experience in one double album.
The Who probably said more in that album than most band's do in their whole career.

Why the fixation with the who? They where formed into a 'Mod'band for commercial reasons. They only made one half descent album (My Generation) which is also commercial tripe.They then proceeded to make rock albums for the next fourty years! Looks like that union flag jacket served its purpose and has hood winked alot of people!

I'm not fixated with The Who........... they've just been the most important band in my life for nearly 30 years now 
All bands (then and now) are 'formed' into something that a company can sell - it's just the reality of the music business.
Christ, they were in The Scene club dancing/grooving/playing in 1964. Not exactly 'plastics' were they?
