Rita Tushingham OR Lynn Redgrave?
Thinking of the two different 60s images for women which is portrayed in the film “Smashin’ Time” - I was wondering what the women (and men for that matter!) around here preferred? The wholesome and IMO “frumpy” look of Rita, or the Dolly Bird style of Lynn? I would say I prefer the Dolly look, much more colourful and fun!! Although after saying that I really liked the classic look that Suzy Kendall had in Up The Junction as opposed to her transformation after donning that awful short cropped style wig later in the film !!

What you mean is she looked better before she turned "Mod". I agree, she (suzy kendall) was a cracker with the long hair...
As regards Dolly or frumpy (as you call it) I think it depends on the girl...
--- ooops!...... did I err???

Just to add to my post I actually prefer the "personality" of Rita as opposed to Lynn's character in that particular film too but as I say I like the more "with-it" look clothes-wise Funny when you think Lynn Redgraved reversed her role when she appeared in Georgie Girl... now I think I prefer Charlotte Rampayne's look there ten times over!
