Nuyorica.
Did you ever go to the Mod alldayers at the Recreation centre in 'Walker' during the 80's?

Yes he did some of them.
I used to go to the Bradford 'Northern Soul Allniters' at the Queens Hall with Dave,Rod,Gazza & those lot later on in the 80's.
I still see Gazza every now & then at the Newcastle 'Brighton Beach' nights.

The alldayers were around the early/middle of the 80's. 1983/84/85 ish.Sorry I can't be more precise but it was 20+ years ago.
There were loads of Mods in Newcastle at the time.In fact there were loads of Mods all over the North-East at the time.
The scooterboys that I can remember weren't as prolific as they were later on in the 80's.
Although there were quite a few.
The 'Tanners Arms' across the Byker bridge was a usual meeting place on a Saturday afternoon for both Mods & Scooterists.
There was always a good atmosphere & it was always packed out.
Ahh the memories.

Re: SHAM ARMY and OTHER GANGS
Nuyorica, i followed SA for about 2 and half years from end of 79 through to the end in 1982. I stayed properly mod until about end 83, when i finally succumbed to the piss takes of my ICF mates and went casual. However, despite adding to my musical tastes in some ways, i've always been a mod at heart, and always made sure that any of the mobs I was with, left the mods alone in the mid 80's. I honestly thought it had died out until about 4 years ago when i got involved in a few scooter things and hit the scene again.
so in short, I followed the original glory boys on the ICF wrecking tour for a few years!
