'The Service Crew' were a bunch of casuals that we often had run in's with in Newcastle during the 80's.
As well as the skinheads that always sat around the fountain in Eldon Square.

Remember them? emoticon

There was a crew that I think went by the name of the 'Vikings' or something like that that used to rule the 'Gallogate' end of St.James's they used to scare the !@#$ out of everyone.emoticon

Re: SHAM ARMY and OTHER GANGS

In the early 80's we all (the mods) used to hang around in the pool rooms upstairs at the end of (I think) it was Ridley Street.
Eldon Square was a no go area due to the skins.
And you couldn't move in Northumberland Street for casuals.
We also spent a lot of time in the 'Card Bar' when it was in the old arcade (which is no longer there. emoticon ).
The 'Card Bar' moved to the bottom of Westgate Road I don't know if it's still in business but Westgate Road was also a no go area due to all the Motorbike shops & Bikers. emoticon
Ahhhh it was a hard life back in the day. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
