Re: The Affair/Rinaldi Sings at 100 club August 13th
...Remember people!....it's just waffle from people getting over hangovers and trying to somehow regain their lost youth! ....don't take it too seriously otherwise you'll get yerself all worked up! ...people change and so do bands and their musical style...look at all the long running bands in history...very few of them keep playing the same sort of music! ...don't even try to read too much into what i'm saying either!..cos most of the time i havn't got a clue...but one thing is sure...i know how to enjoy myself and i did on Friday night! ...respect due to all concerned...keep up the good work and i'll do my best to support you as much as i can!

too right mickee mate, I reckon it doesn't bother me one bit whether I'm watching the Affair or SA. they are both top bands in their own right. Both bands are now more like our mates, and it's just super fun to beable to have a beer and a laugh when you go along and pay your tenner. for the record, it's real nice when people like jonesy, or tonyM and lenny f, or steve Rinaldi, come and say hello. it's all good fun, so lets all keep supporting and having a top time. There ain't millions like us anymore, so we should all stick close whilst maintaining our own opinions as wel.

The scene might be small but does anyone else get the impression that it's really starting to HAPPEN!! Looking at some of the things coming up, Xmas Party, Scarborough, Mickee's thing etc, they're all being organised by people like you and me rather than promoters and club owners. There's a real sense of optimism out there and everyone seems to be really enjoying themselves, even DC.

I think so Tony! ...i think the main thing to remember is not to get into too many silly squabbles ..which has happened a lot in the past..but most of us are all getting on in our years now and i would hope are a bit wiser! ....but i for one would love to do more stuff!...though i love getting p*ssed and dancing and having a laugh ..i love Dj'ing even more cos i get a buzz from it !..the same way you do when you get on stage and play to an audience(after getting over the initial shakes!)!...more please definately ...as some of you know i'm having a right change round in my life at the moment and top on the list is getting out and having a good time while i've still got some life in me!

it's funny you saying that - we were just saying the same thing about the scene up here:

we'd all better get used to travelling up and down the country a lot in the coming months then...

Re: The Affair/Rinaldi Sings at 100 club August 13th
I have no problem with a bit of travelling, as long as I'm welcome. Went north a couple of times in the old days in support of SA and The Purple Hearts about 20 million years ago and to be honest, it always got a bit tribal, however, I must say, the web seems to have cured us of all that nonsense.
got to be really honest though, i'm very in favour of orgainising a mod event for mods, rather than attending a "scooter" rally, where I am subjected to a never ending set of poor ska bands and northern soul. I grew up listening to the new wave/power pop/mod revival(whatever you wanna call it) and that's what i want to hear, as well as some decent 60's soul/RnB. The younger bands like J60, 17 black, Grasp to name just 3, need our support, as well as the well known LTS/Affair grouping(although I love em dearly). My girlfriend showed me a couple of vids of some mid 80's rallies(well after I retired from mod and took up footie in a big way) and it all looked top fun....
Now I'm more than comfy in the scooter scene, but the two can easily sit side by side and mingle when necessary.
Things are moving again, we just need to attract some youngsters to our scene again, or we'll all become very old!!!

And let's hope that we don't get to the point where we all squabble amongst ourselves. Nothin' worse than pissing on yer own if you know what I mean!
Where's Johnny Levy disappeared to?

of course you'd be welcomed - its what we northerners do best, and what we're famous for!

well if you were to come to one of our local do's that dave puts on it will be a mix of people and music cos there arent enough of one group in the area to fill a pub. but i can almost guarantee you'd have a great evening, tho i guess it depends what you want from a night out.
