Mod Suit

Hi all,

 looking to replace my one and only suit. Where can I go for a slim fit, 3 button, nice quality suit but not in bright tonic colours...I need this for all occasions, occasional work etc. Preferably somewhere in Midlands or London (I'm down there with work sometimes)

 I know I'm getting fussy now but not too expensive. Less than £200 or else I will probably just end up with a high street job that will have to do.

For that money your best bet if to go second hand.
You'd get a suit in mint condition for less than that, probably bespoke made for the seller, it'd likely need a bit of alteration but you should be able to do that with the change.
I think the good quality off the shelf ones (DNA Groove, Adam etc) are usually a bit pricier.
There are mods selling stuff the whole time over on the modculture sales page, I'd start there if I was you as it might be easier and safer than ebay.

Cheers Bik...I think I must have forgotten or naive how expensive quality suits really are. I thought I might be doing alright with £200 for a nice new one. Will check out what's on offer.

Re: Mod Suit

From my experience, and if you possibly can in terms of your budget, try and get another 95 pounds and go for an Adam of London Tonik. I used to go for the cheaper option with clothes and I always ended up regretting it, unfortunately you pay for what you get. DNA Groove are outstanding but if you're looking for bright colours and if you want to try it on then call into Adam's shop.

If you were spending 100 or 150 pounds for a suit then as you said, a high street store might cut it but for the sake of another 95 pounds (which i understand is a lot of money also) you can walk away with a cracking off the peg suit from Adam looking the dogs.

Have a look mate;

The other option as Bik has said is to look for 2nd hand. Check ebay.co.uk every couple of days and search 'Adam of London' 'Jump The Gun' and 'DNA Groove'.....I seen tonnes of suits on there, especially from JTG and they've barely been worn.

Hope it helps ya and best of luck with the suit

Thanks Gilly. I bought a M&S (one of their more expensive ones) at first but once home I tried it on again and decided it was good but not great so took it back. I'm still not sorted but am biding my time and clearly need to have a physical look in some of these shops. Some lovely suits in your link and will definitely consider e-bay.
Thanks again.

Finally sorted. I did eventually find an go to Adams and really liked it there. Great service and it was lovely seeing all those suits hung up and I tried a few on and they looked great but for my first suit for ages and costs in mind, I decided not to this time.

But...then I went to Modclothin and with their sale on I bought a lovely 3 button suit plus a load of lovely shirts.

So thanks for all the advice and I took ages but did finally get there...now I just want to buy more! emoticon
