Funkdoobiest made the list, Funny, not mod at all, but I remember them from the early/mid-90s as the little brother group to Cypress Hill. For some reason I remember a little cousin of mine or a guy that lived in the barracks who used to play it, and I thought, "Hmmmm, hip-hop I can actually enjoy."
Some other great Hip-Hop:
Tribe Called Quest's "The Low End Theory"
Digable Planets "Blowout Comb"
Lookin' back I think rap really crashed, burned, rotted and died a terrible death after 94. Occasionally there are glimpses here and there of stuff that's ok, but all in all I really don't like 97% of it.
